Other event
The European Mission Soil Week is an annual event aimed at promoting the Horizon Europe Mission 'A Soil Deal for Europe' (Mission Soil) raising awareness about the importance of soil health, and driving action to protect and restore our soils.
This year's European Mission Soil Week, organised by the European Commission, Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development (DG AGRI) in the context of the Horizon Europe Mission ‘A Soil Deal for Europe’ (Mission Soil) together with the Joint Research Centre - EU Soil Observatory (EUSO) and with the support of the Directorate-General for Research and Innovation (DG RTD) and the European Research Executive Agency (REA), will be held from 12 to 13 November 2024 in Brussels, Belgium.
This second edition of the Mission Soil Week adds momentum to the ongoing efforts to improve soil health and provides the place to present and discuss how research and innovation (R&I) on soil health, and the Mission Soil in particular, contributes to:
- Generate new knowledge
- Harmonize soil monitoring
- Co-design innovations and test solutions on the ground
- Increase societal awareness and engagement
- Support the green transition in more general terms
The event will allow participants to discover the first Mission Soil living labs, strengthen network collaboration and will provide the opportunity to see inspiring examples of sustainable soil management by offering field visits to agricultural, forestry, urban and remediation sites.
