Toolbox for Soil Living Lab Growth

Practical Guidance for Sustainable Strategies

This toolbox is co-designed, validated and refined to accelerate the adoption, maturity, and optimise the operation of soil-related Living Lab and Lighthouse initiatives under different land use contexts.   []

By leveraging existing tools and resources from the PREPSOIL project, as well as output from external initiatives and other projects working within the Soil Mission, this toolbox aims to provide practical guidance that will enable Living Labs to effectively implement soil health initiatives.

To find results faster, filters can be used to identify specific tools and resources;

  1. Learning area: the area of focus of the tool or resource, as briefly described below. Each learning area has several criteria.
  2. Criteria: subcategory of learning areas. Criteria provide a more detailed structure when comparing Soil Health Living labs and Lighthouse initiatives.
  3. Type of content: the way in which information is provided. For example via reports, an interactive website, online tools, guides, etc.
  4. Current status: selection that shows which resources are more interesting for emerging living lab and lighthouse initiatives, or more mature living lab and lighthouse initiatives.
  5. Source: the name of the project or organisation in which the information has been developed.

When looking for information as an emerging Living Lab or Lighthouse initiative the “Webinar: The Living Lab essential - How to set up a Living Lab” is a good starting point to get familiar with the terms and conditions used for Living Lab and Lighthouse initiatives.

For inspiration on how other Living Lab and Lighthouse initiatives have taken up specific soil concerns together with community-led initiatives, examples of community of practice are given on the PREPSOIL website. Many more insights and activities, such as workshops or examples of best teaching practices, can be found on the Prepsoil TV.
