Nationaal Engagement Evenement over de EU bodem missie - Nederland

The European Commission launched the mission 'A Soil Deal for Europe' in 2021 with the aim of setting up 100 Living Labs & Lighthouses throughout Europe to initiate the transition to healthy soils by 2030. The NATI00NS project, funded by the Horizon Europe programme, organizes “National Engagement Events” across Europe to promote the soil mission and encourage parties to set up Living Labs for healthy, vital soils.

The aim of the meeting is to connect all stakeholders involved in soil and land management to work together on healthy soils in Living Labs. This concerns all soils, including land use in agriculture, in the city, in nature and in industrial areas. The workshop presents the tools and support that NATI00NS provides to set up Living Labs for soil health. Consider the special online matchmaking platform, which can be used to get in touch with potential partners in other countries to jointly submit a proposal.

Finally, the EU call for this is further explained. The EU funds that become available for the implementation of the soil mission are a great opportunity for Dutch organizations that are committed to soil health. This Engagement Event is aimed at people from research, agriculture and forestry, food companies, urban development and spatial planning, science communication, companies, professional and consumer associations, education, social organizations, NGOs and (local) governments.

The Engagement Event in the Netherlands will take place on Wednesday morning, May 17 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Aeres University of Applied Sciences in Dronten. After lunch there is an opportunity to participate in an excursion to the 'Aeres Farms'. On this school farm, a number of facilities are specifically aimed at measuring and researching soil compaction. Places are limited for physical participation and especially for the excursion. Participants will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis.
