Coming soon: the PREPSOIL Mobile App for all soil enthusiasts!

In June 2024, the PREPSOIL project will launch the PREPSOIL Mobile App, a free digital solution helping citizens acquire knowledge on soil and support European universities, institutions, and soil initiatives with real-life insights.
What will the PREPSOIL Mobile App offer?
Since the start of the project, PREPSOIL has developed a set of digital tools to promote soil literacy and expand the knowledge base on soil health. The PREPSOIL Mobile App will provide easy access to these digital assets and the opportunity to help improve our soils with citizens’ observations.
Through the PREPSOIL Mobile App every user will be able to access:
- the Knowledge Hub - a multi-lingual online library providing access to over 200 resources on soil
- the LL/LH map - an interactive map showcasing the Living Labs and Lighthouses identified by PREPSOIL
- the PREPSOIL TV - a catalogue of videos and interviews on soil issues and best practices to improve soil health
In addition, all users will have the chance to participate in exciting SOIL QUESTS to become active players in expanding knowledge on soil!
What are the SOIL QUESTS and how can you engage?
Soil is one of our most important natural resources. Numerous organisations around Europe work on promoting soil health. To help them obtain useful insights on soil in different regions, we created the SOIL QUESTS.
Every organisation, university, LL/LH or research institute focusing on soil matters will be able to launch a SOIL QUEST on the PREPSOIL Mobile App. In a quest, the organisation can ask to upload an image of soil in a specific region, indicate the levels of soil erosion, or request any other type of relevant information that citizens and scientists might provide.
The registered users will receive a notification once the soil quest is open in their region. All it takes then is to discover the soil around you and submit your contribution!
Level up your knowledge to become a PREPSOIL Soil Expert
With the SOIL QUESTS and the resources made available by PREPSOIL, every citizen has the chance to contribute. Every small step you make to learn more about soils and how to protect them will be rewarded with PREPSOIL points until you achieve the recognition of the PREPSOIL Soil Expert. The highest rewards will be granted to those who take an active role and contribute to the SOIL QUESTS.
