A Holistic Approach to Soil Needs in Europe

PREPSOIL will take a holistic approach to soil needs in 19 contrasting regions in the European Member States and Associated Countries.  In this video, Saskia Keesstra from Waginingen University who lead the work devoted to the Identification, mapping and evaluation of EU regional soil needs explains why soil needs go beyond the physical, chemical, and biological requirements of the soil itself and also include the social, economic, and political factors that influence soil management and conservation in these regions.

The video interview was conducted during the PREPSOIL Kick-Off meeting held in September in Aarhus which gave the project the first opportunity to meet on a face-to face basis.
