Working together for healthier soils across Europe
The PREPSOIL Conceptual Framework is designed to support and guide Living Labs (LLs) and Lighthouses (LHs) in tackling the eight key challenges set by the EU Mission: A Soil Deal for Europe. It helps identify what makes an effective Living Lab, and how these local initiatives can improve soil health in practical, scalable ways.
At its core, the framework offers a shared understanding for everyone involved—researchers, farmers, policymakers, and other stakeholders—helping to map, compare, and grow impactful Living Labs. It also lays the foundation for developing tailored business models, knowledge-sharing tools, and practical actions suited to Europe’s diverse landscapes and soil needs.
A Tool for Action: The Workshop Kit
To bring the framework to life, PREPSOIL offers a Workshop Kit. This kit helps users organize interactive sessions that inspire reflection, collaboration, and innovation around soil health.
Whether you're launching a new Living Lab or working to improve an existing one, these workshops can help:
- Map current practices and knowledge
- Identify new ideas and collaborative strategies
- Anticipate and prepare for future challenges
- Define who needs to be involved and what goals to prioritize
Ideal for research teams, Living Lab communities, or stakeholder groups just getting started, the workshops are flexible and inclusive—designed to spark dialogue even among those who don’t often work together.
