Stakeholders from tourism, research, pastoralism and local authorities gathered on 10 May in Grenoble for a PREPSOIL workshop about health of mountain soils. The event allowed stakeholders to discuss their needs for healthy soils.
The PREPSOIL workshop on the sustainable management of vineyard soils in Bordeaux took place on April 24, 2023 at the Maison de l'Agriculture et de la Forêt in Bordeaux. It gathered stakeholders of the wine industry including politicians, agricultural organizations, researchers and others that discussed about the health of soils in vineyard of Bordeaux.
In the framework of the PREPSOIL Project - Preparing the EU Mission towards healthy soils, the Dehesa has been selected as one of the 21 European land use types for study and as a reference for similar soils in other geographical locations on the continent. This is a unique ecosystem shared between Spain and Portugal.
Türkiye “PREPSOIL Regional Soil Needs Workshop” was held on April 26, 2023. This workshop was held in order to understand the most urgent needs in the NUTS2 - TR61 Region, which represents the soil need in and around Köprülü Canyon National Park (Forest). Köprülü Canyon National Park has outstanding landscape features such as typical unequal and valuable forest stands, habitats for wildlife, valuable sites for culture, karst geomorphology.
At the PREPSOIL workshop in Amsterdam about urban soil needs, which took place last 20th April 2023, a dedicated group of people from different organizations with different viewpoints attended. These were people from the municipality (soil experts, spatial planners, ecologists and asset managers), representatives from citizen groups, soil awareness and educational organisations and scientists working on soil issues in Amsterdam. Also, two other cities active on urban soil health were attending the workshop.
On Friday, March 17th, 2023, at the Institute of Research in Olive Groves and Olive Oil (INUO) located in Jaén (Spain), the EU-funded project PREPSOIL celebrated a workshop about the soil health in olive groves. This workshop congregated different olive stakeholders (politicians, agricultural organizations, researchers and others) that discussed about the health of soils in olive tree plantations.
